Financial & Legal Issues Group

In 2017 The UMRA Board of Directors approved the creation of a Financial and Legal Issues Group (FLG).  UMRA had sponsored various workshops on Financial and Legal Issues in recent years. The FLG is designed to permit greater depth and continuity of discussion to facilitate problem solving and resource identification of retiree's financial and legal issues. FLG workshops based on FLG member suggestions include:

Tax Planning Year-end income tax actions based on the new Federal & MN Income tax code

Health care administration, Long Term Care (LTC), issues with LTC facilities, Lead Presenter: Jayne Clairmont, owner/consultant, English Rose Suites.

Identity Security. Lead presenter, Dave Bell, President of Cyber Solutions Inc.

Estate Planning, Lead presenter, an attorney specializing in estate planning.

Charitable giving and the new tax code, Presented by: Todd Koch, CPA, MBT, CFP, Partner at John A. Knutson & Co., PLLP

 How To Get A Better Tax Bang For Your Charitable Buck, Presented by: Todd Koch, CPA, MBT, CFP, Partner at John A. Knutson & Co., PLLP

The 2017/2018 workshops are on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. at John A. Knutson & Co., PLLP, classroom, and available online by computer and IPhone.
