University Archives contains many UMRA documents.  One of the earliest was created with one of the  most common tools of the trade of the early 1980's. The 22 page, typewritten (remember those?) pdf document is titled: "PDF icon umra_history_1976-1983_by_e_gerald.pdf." It is very interesting reading.  Read online or download a copy.

Candidate for Board of Directors Poppele

Richard Poppele retired in 2006 from the Department of Neuroscience. He served in a number of leadership positions at the University including Physiology Department chair for two years, director of the Laboratory of Neurophysiology, and founding director of Graduate Studies in Neuroscience. He served in the Faculty Senate and chaired the Senate Judicial Committee and the Sexual Harassment Board. He was active in Medical School, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Biological Sciences governance. Dick’s wife Meredith served on the UMRA Board in 2007–09. Dick has served on UMRA’s Grants committee and will chair the committee in 2017–18.
