Cyber Tips & Tricks: So, you have a new email account ... now what?
So, your @umn.edu email will soon go away and you've set up a new email account. And you definitely setup the recovery email and phone for the new account, since they're so important. You've moved your contacts to the new email, and moved any documents you may have on Google Drive. You've probably notified all your friends and business associates about the new email address. What else do you need to do?
- Did you change your email with UMRA? At https://retirees.umn.edu select "Change Login Email Address" and follow the prompts.
- Did you change your contact info with the University? [Note that you are a retire in the Comments box.]
- Perhaps you want an auto-responder on your old email address to remind others you have a new email?
- Do you want to forward emails from the UMN email to your new one, so you don't miss an email? Forwarding will allow you to view emails from both accounts in one account.
