Hyland Lake Park Reserve hike

Please join Bev Moe on Monday, June 1, 2026 for a hike that is approximately 5 miles in length at an average pace of roughly 18 minutes per mile at one of the most beautiful parks in the metro area, Hyland Lake Park Reserve, located at 10145 East Bush Lake Road in Bloomington. We will hike mostly on dirt and grass trails, with some paved areas and a few moderate hills. Hiking poles are optional on this hike. The terrain is easy and the views are lovely. Come to this hike to find out why this is one of Bev’s favorite parks.
Meet at 9:20 outside the Visitor Center for a hike start time of 9:30 am. How to find us? Meet outside the Visitor Center near the children’s play area (Chutes and Ladders). The restrooms are open and a water fountain is available to fill your water bottle both before and after the hike.
We will hike in light rain, but not a thunderstorm. If it looks like bad weather, the hike will be cancelled and you will be notified by 8:00 a.m.

Executive Vice President and Provost Gretchen Ritter will discuss her role and offer reflections on her first year at the University of Minnesota as the featured speaker for the UMRA Luncheon Forum on May 19 at Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville. The forum will be preceded by UMRA’s 2026 Annual Meeting.
