Morris Campus Retirees April meeting

Morris Campus Retirees will host a Zoom meeting on April 30 at 4:00 PM Central Time.

The following is the agenda for the meeting:
- A conversation with UMM’s Vice Chancellor and Academic Dean, Jordan Cofer. Dr. Cofer earned his doctorate in English from Texas Tech University. He brings extensive leadership experience in the liberal arts to UMM.
- Vote on the Disposition of UMMRA funds:
- Retain funds to be used as needed and vote on a new treasurer.
- Donate the funds to UMM’s scholarship fund in memory of deceased UMMRA members.
- Donate the funds to UMM’s general scholarship fund.
- Announcements
- We call for future meeting topics.
- Other.
- Socialization Let us know what is new in your life.
Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for the end of August/beginning of September, topic TBA.
*Morris Campus Retirees are part of the University of Minnesota Retiree Association (UMRA). The group has already held two meetings in its first year of existence. Advisory members of the group are Web Master Vicky Demos, Joan Reicosky, Brenda Boever, and Jenny Nellis.

Meeting to plan books for next year.
There has been a lot in the news recently about the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians, and Fairview Health Services. Please join us at breakfast on January 8 for a respectful and engaging discussion of their relationship.

Developing a sense of identity is a central psychological task of the lifespan. Memories and stories from our personal past, as well as cultural memories and stories in society play key roles in how we develop our identities. This presentation will discuss psychological theory and research on how memories and stories make us who we are.
