Candidate for Board of Directors Poppele

Richard Poppele retired in 2006 from the Department of Neuroscience. He served in a number of leadership positions at the University including Physiology Department chair for two years, director of the Laboratory of Neurophysiology, and founding director of Graduate Studies in Neuroscience.

He served in the Faculty Senate and chaired the Senate Judicial Committee and the Sexual Harassment Board. He was active in Medical School, College of Liberal Arts, and College of Biological Sciences governance.

Dick’s wife Meredith served on the UMRA Board in 2007–09. Dick has served on UMRA’s Grants committee and will chair the committee in 2017–18.
