Photo Club

The UMRA Photo Club is open to all members who have an interest in photography. We welcome photographers of all abilities. Most of us are struggling amateurs who like to take pictures and want to get better. We benefit from the kind help we get from each other.

We meet monthly to share photos and talk about different aspects of photography. We have a good time and laugh a lot.

UMRA events.

Recent meetings have started with “theme pictures”—club members contribute pictures related to a specific theme. Members also share pictures of their own choosing.

Attend a meeting to find out more and share in our fun and laughter.

From time to time we meet for a photo shoot somewhere in the Twin Cities. Recent shoots have been at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Como Zoo and Conservatory, the State Capitol, the University campus and Franconia Sculpture Park.

There is active sharing of web resources on photography by members of the Photo Club.

For the 2024-25 academic year we are scheduling meetings in person on the second Tuesday of each month starting at 12:30 pm at the St. Anthony Branch of Hennepin County Libraries in the small shopping center at New Brighton and St. Anthony Blvds.

Please contact Sheri Goldsmith May <[email protected]> or Craig Swan <[email protected]> for more information and to be added to the Photo Club email list.
