Duo and your UMN login

The U is slowly asking everyone to install Duo to add security to your UMN login, whenever your password needs updating. With the password renewal email, there will be instructions for changing the password and installing Duo. Duo is usually installed on your mobile phone (although there are alternatives if you don't have a smart phone). The instructions you receive will work for most scenarios. And, after successfully updating your password and installing Duo, remember you may have other apps that are storing the old UMN password (wifi, email), and these will also need to be updated to the new password.

If you have trouble with the instructions you receive, here is a website that may have helpful information. https://it.umn.edu/self-help-guide/duo-set-use-duo-security

UMRA login

If you are wondering if you need to change the password for your UMRA login when you change your UMN password, read on:

Reservations & paying dues: UMRA members can reserve a spot for luncheons, or pay membership dues at retirees.umn.edu. This site uses a non-UMN login, so NO, this password does not change when your UMN password changes

UMRA Salon: To post to the UMRA Salon, you will use your UMN userid and password, so YES, this will change when you update your UMN password.

UMRA site Editors: If you log in to the UMRA site to edit, you also use your UMN userid and password, so YES, this will change when you update your UMN password.
