OLLI offers free online ‘At-the-U’ lecture series

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Minnesota is part of the College of Continuing & Professional Studies and belongs to a national network of 125 Osher institutes supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation.

OLLI’s mission is to provide its membership of dedicated lifelong learners with a year-round curriculum of high-quality noncredit courses, as well as intellectually stimulating social, cultural, and volunteer opportunities. Many UMRA members are OLLI members—and course leaders—and know how valuable the institute is to Minnesota retirees.

This spring, OLLI is offering a free, “At-the-U” lecture series to showcase work and research taking place at the U, with topics ranging from cancer treatment to awesome apples and design in everyday objects. The series runs on Thursdays from March 28 to May 2 and includes six 90-minute lectures taught by University faculty members who are experts in their fields. The lectures will be held via Zoom from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Membership in OLLI is not required to participate, but should you eventually decide to join OLLI, the institute offers UMRA members a 20 percent discount on a first year of membership.

This is a great time to sample OLLI and the wonderful programs it offers. Go to ccaps.umn.edu > Lifelong Learning to register and learn more about the topics and speakers. Don't delay; get this series on your calendars now!
