The UMRA Transition Task Force presented its final report to the UMRA executive committee and board at their January meetings. Among its recommendations: to resume our monthly forums as in-person events starting in March.
After much discussion, the committee and board decided to send a survey to UMRA members, asking them when they would like to restart the monthly forum as an in-person meeting at the Campus Club. Only 16 percent of the respondents indicated they would attend a March in-person forum. Among the reasons given were the infectivity of the Omicron virus, break-through Omicron infections, and health status at this time. A decision was made, therefore, to hold the March forum via Zoom.
Thank you to all the members who responded to the survey. The full survey will be considered by the executive committee and board at their March meetings. Among the considerations for decisions are when to initiate in-person forums and the possible use of a hybrid format. There will be a communication to the membership following these meetings.
