Invitation to write about resilience

As retirees, we are all learning to adapt to a world that seems to change on a daily basis. So, the editorial committee of the Journal of Opinions, Ideas & Essays (JOIE) is inviting UMRA members to share their thoughts on resilience via a short essay. The essays (maximum 1,000 words each) will be collected into a single document that will be published in the open-access, UMRA-sponsored e-journal. JOIE is intended for a general audience and is hosted by the University of Minnesota Digital Conservancy.

Suggested topics for the essay:

  • Are you concerned about artificial intelligence? Why?
  • Are you finding value in social media (Facebook, YouTube, X, etc.)?
  • How are you learning to live in a politically divided country and/or family?

Please email your essay to Kris Bettin by October 15. Submissions will be edited for length and clarity.
