Twin Cities Regional Science Fair needs Volunteer Science Judges!

SCIENCE FAIR PROJECT JUDGING: 2/24/17 @ University of Minnesota Field House, 1800 University Ave. S.E., Minneapolis from 4 – ca. 9 p.m. Free parking and you will be fed both food and the delight in seeing and contemplating student projects. You may choose to judge either in your own field of expertise or other fields. There are 22 categories and 5 “super categories” which group similar fields together to better match judges with projects. Some pre-assigning of projects will be based on category selections you make in the registration. Otherwise, judging assignments are made during the supper starting at 3:30 p.m. Judges will provide verbal feedback to students during the judging rather than writing comment forms.

RESEARCH PAPER JUDGING, AN ON-LINE PROCESS: Research Paper Judges have a two-week period (Feb. 3 – 19) to read and score papers at their leisure. With internet access you can even do this if you are out of town! The website provides for comments on the papers (both middle and high school) without providing scores or judge names.

The Twin Cities Regional Science Fair is affiliated with the Minnesota Academy of Science and the International Science and Engineering Fair.

If you have already registered to judge for the science fair, please inform the University Retirees Volunteer Center at [email protected]. In addition to announcing volunteer opportunities, we maintain data on the valuable contributions retirees make through volunteering.
