Sweatt Chair in Technological Leadership, professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and director of the Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) at the University of Minnesota.

Hubert (Skip) Humphrey III, director of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s new Older Americans office will speak on “Scams for Seniors to Avoid.” The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010 directed the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to create an agency office to address the needs of older Americans. Given the task of improving the financial decision-making of seniors and preventing unfair, deceptive, and abusive practices targeted at seniors, the Bureau turned to Hubert Humphrey III (better known as Skip) to be the first director of the office.
