Photo club to feature pix of reflections at March meeting

The UMRA Photo Club will meet on Tuesday, March 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the St. Anthony branch of the Hennepin County Library in the small shopping center at New Brighton and St. Anthony Boulevards in St. Anthony Village. 

February Book Notes

New UMRA interest group, Finance and Legal Group (FLG), will meet February 21 for a workshop on identity security.

Photo Club pix to feature snow and ice at February meeting

The Photo Club’s February 13 meeting will feature “snow and ice” pictures. Each attendee is asked to submit their favorite snow and ice pictures.

UMRA Book Club makes its selections for February through May

The February book will be The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man’s Love Affair with Nature by J. Drew Lanham, with discussion led by Judy Helgen.

New Financial and Legal Issues Group gets underway

“Tax Planning in Uncertain Times” was the topic for the first meeting of the new special interest group, Financial and Legal Issues (FLG), led by Andy Whitman in December. Members learned about end-of-year possible tax actions and set out a schedule of speakers and topics for the coming year.

Photo Club meetings to start earlier

Photo Club meetings will start 30 minutes earlier, a schedule designed to beat the afternoon commuter crush at the end of the day. November 14 meeting will feature “mystery pictures.” 

Show your favorite pix at Photo Club

The October Photo Club meeting is the perfect time to show off your favorite photos. If you enjoy taking pictures, consider coming to one of our meetings. We welcome photographers of all abilities. Most of us are struggling amateurs who like to take pictures and want to get better. We all benefit from the help we get from each other.

UMRA Photo Club meets May 12

The Photo Club welcomes photographers of all abilities.  Most of us are struggling amateurs who like to take pictures and want to get better. We benefit from the kind and supportive help we get from each other. The next meeting will be held at the Washburn Library, 5344 Lyndale Ave. South in Minneapolis from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 12.

The UMRA Photo Club will meet Friday, April 14, 1 to 3 p.m. at the St. Anthony branch of the Hennepin County Library, in the small shopping center at New Brighton and St. Anthony Boulevards. Come at noon for lunch at the Great Dragon Buffet across the parking lot from the library (ask for the senior discount).
