Photo Club meets in new location in fall 2016

The UMRA Photo Club welcomes photographers of all abilities. Most of us are struggling amateurs who like to take pictures and want to get better. We benefit from the kind help we get from each other.

Photo Club plans a photo shoot in May

Our May photo shoot will be at the Minneapolis Farmers Market on Saturday, May 21.  We should meet at 9 am at Tollefson's stand at the northwestern most point of the market, corner of East Lyndale North and Cesar Chavez Ave. 

There is good parking right across Lyndale under the freeway as well as a couple of other lots. 

Photo Club members learn together

The UMRA Photo Club is made up of photographers of all abilities. We benefit from the kind help we get from one another. This month we will meet on Friday, February 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., in our usual spot at the St. Anthony Branch of the Hennepin County Library.

Photo Club plans April 26 Workshop

Photo Club members are busy planning to present an April workshop for UMRA members, and they are very interested in any questions you might have about photography. Please send your questions to Sheri Goldsmith May, [email protected], or Craig Swan, [email protected].

Photo Club meets November 20

To observe the holidays, the UMRA Photo Club, which had begun fall meetings on the fourth Fridays, will change their meeting dates in November and December to the third
Fridays.
 

Photo Club meets October 23

The UMRA Photo Club will meet on Friday, October 23, at 1 p.m. at the Hennepin County St. Anthony Branch Library, located in the small shopping center at the inter­section of New Brighton Blvd and St. Anthony Blvd. Please contact sheri Goldsmith May, [email protected]; or Craig swan, [email protected], for more details.

Book Club Meeting

For both August and September, we are reading and discussing The Bully Pulpit:  Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft and the Golden Age of Journalism.    Contact Pat Tollefson, [email protected], for more information.

The UMRA Photo Club is open to all UMRA members who have an interest in photography.

Prior to the meeting at 1 p.m., many members of the Photo Club gather at noon for lunch at the Great Dragon Buffet, just across the parking lot from the St Anthony Branch Library.

2015-2-20 Book Club

Our book for January was THE ART FORGER by B.A. Shapiro. The next books we will be reading are as follows:  DIARY OF ANNE FRANK for February; THE INVENTION OF WINGS by Sue Monk Kidd for March; DESTINY OF THE REPUBLIC by Candice Millard for April; and ALL THE LIGHT I CANNOT SEE by Anthony Doerr for May.
