'Light' is the theme for October Photo Club meeting

All UMRA members with an interest in photography are welcome to attend the meeting of the UMRA Photo Club on Tuesday, October 10. We welcome photographers of all abilities. Most of us are struggling amateurs. We laugh a lot and learn from sharing and talking about our pictures.

Growing up Revell

This Family Reunion Project is about sharing family stories and learning about surprising family connections. I asked everyone to write an essay, prior to coming, about growing up in the Revell family.  The compilation of essays from three generations that was distributed at the reunion has become a family keepsake.

U of M Regents Mary Turner and Penny Wheeler provided an engaging and personal exchange about their roles as new members of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents during UMRA’s special forum on October 4.

With this year’s World Series coming up soon, UMRA member Ron Matross is savoring memories of sharing America’s pastime with his son at the old Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis in the 1980s. Those were glory days for the Minnesota Twins. 

Leisurely Lake Minnetonka hike

Join host KaiMay Terry for a 3.5 mile slow-paced walk on the Three Rivers Dakota Rail Regional Trail. The scenic paved walk will start and end at KaiMay's home overlooking Lake Minnetonka. 

Book Notes | ‘The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane’

Event Date: August 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM

Although it represents exhaustive research and is engrossing, Lisa See’s novel about a young woman who becomes a tea entrepreneur in China and the daughter she gives up for adoption by a family in Southern California drew mixed reactions from members of UMRA’s Book Club I.

U of M Day at Target Field

Show your support for the University of Minnesota and the Twins during "U of M Day", in partnership with the University of Minnesota Alumni Association, at Target Field on Saturday, July 22, when the Twins take on the Chicago White Sox at 6:15 p.m.

Age-Friendly University Day

Two special presenters and discussions on financial fraud, mindfulness, climate change, and more will be the focus of the second annual “Age-Friendly University Day” at the University on Monday, June 26. 

‘Mrs. Dalloway’ is FF Book Club selection for July 14

In a departure from its regular schedule, UMRA’s Fourth Friday Book Club will be meeting on the THIRD Friday in July, to discuss Virginia Woolf’s 1925 novel Mrs. Dalloway.
